FPGA Development Engineer Job Description Job Description: We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer interested in supporting hardware development of Intel's latest automotive and transportation products. In this position, you will be part of the hardware development team at Intel's Automotive Center in Karlsruhe, specifically working on FPGA architecture for co processing, hardware test and build in self test. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Candidates will design and develop Verilog modules and top level for Altera FPGAs. Candidates will define and implement self test capabilities and interface IP for UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, TDM and PCIe based on Verilog modules. These Verilog modules provide both "standard" interface functionality for communication and special function that provide testing of corner cases and error injection. Within the FPGA the Verilog modules are connected via AMBA AXI bus that is mastered by a PCIe bus and additional interfaces from an external CPU. Candidates will work in an expert team of other module developers and software engineers that develop operational software for the test, qualification and hardware verification. For Verilog module testing you should have Python Qualifications Main Duties Design, implementation, test, integration and delivery of Verilog modules for interface tests. Create Simulation environment for Verilog modules and functional simulation. Integration of developed items and test in hardware using Python scripts. Release of developed items (documentation of modules, programming interface). Debug support for high level test scripts developed by coworkers. Qualifications, Skills Automotive or industrial work experience. Excellent skills and practice in programming in Verilog Practiced handling FPGA Design Suites for IP generation and SDC Knowledge of AMBA AXI technology Experience in the domain of control interfaces like UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, TDM, PCIe Debugging skills and practice in the use of hardware measurement (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyser) tools and equipment. Linux experience on user level. Programming skills in Python script language Good communication skills in English written and spoken. Basic communication skills in German.
